Okay so not far from now im am going to buy BioShock for the Xbox 360 but im not to sure if i should let my brother play the game...He is 13 years of age and has played games like Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil 5 and Gears or war. Im really stuck on this so will you guys help me out and tell me how scary it would be for him on a 1-10 scale. Thankyou guys! cya online! ;)- PSfanboy101Some advice on BioShock...
its not that gory and the scariest parts are probs at the start. its not that bad compared to the other games he has playedSome advice on BioShock...
Man i played the first Silent Hill when i was about 9 and Resident Evil 0 when i was 11 now they were real messed up haha.If he gets scared thats the fun of it dude and hes 13 if hes gonna man up its gotta happen soon(no offense).
if he played Left 4 Dead, I dont see a problem
I was in the same position, except I was thinking about myself. I am an obsolute wimp when it comes to horror games, and I played BioShock and I wasn't scared at all. There are some 'freaky' parts in the game, but they're not over the top (they're bearable). I just completely forgot about my wimpy-ness and played the game. I ended up loving the eery feel it had. So yeah, I think your brother shoud be fine especially if he's played L4D.
If you're still on the fence after this, then check out some gameplay vids and show them to your brother and see what he thinks.
There are some real spooky and creep out moments. I would rate it a 7.2/10. Most of the time its you entering a room, the room going black (or foggy), and either someone appearing RIGHT behind you or someone you thought was a corpse jumping up right in front of you. It's quite exhilarating, actually and adds a lot to the game. He should be fine with it.
By chance do either of you have parents? If so I would probably leave it up to them to decide...
I found it scary and funny at the same time, some of the things they say in there cracked me up a few times.
Eh, bioshock isn't scary. I myself am very easily spooked and found no problem with it.
He should be ok. now if it was F.E.A.R. or F.E.A.R. 2 id say otherwise
The beginnning is creepy but once you get a shotgun....pure fun.....How can anyone be scared of deranged people with plasmids with a shotgun in your hand?
Iffy, I'd say. If he's a mature kid let him play, if not, pass on it. BioShock isn't too gory or anything, but the subject matter itself is darker than L4D, RE5 and FEAR. It's very much intended for older audiences, whether forum users agree with me or not. It isn't a question of gore, it's a question of pushing limits and BioShock kind of does that. Admittedly though, the kid is 13 you said, so if you've noticed that he can handle things maturely, than he should be fine. But if he acts up around stuff, than no.I have a 12 year old cousin, and I let him play Halo 3, Call of Duty 4 and so on, but not BioShock. The kid hasn't touched it yet because I don't think I want him to see a psycho lady, leaning over a cradle whispering to it only to reveal (I won't spoil a thing for you :P)
Ive recently started playing it but if he's played all those others then let him play this, nps.
I let my 9yr son play bioshock..maybe thats wrong but in my eyes the game is fine for him:p
it's not that scary and it's pretty intense but he should be able to handle it
I would say no but then again i've never had the stomach to play Resident Evil, Fear or any of those games. Bioshock was terrifying to me. Surround sounds tends to do that to scary games.
If he has already played those other games, there is really nothing left for him to be distanced from.Bioshock is fine and a fun game too.
Bioshock is an amazing game. If your brother is already playing Left 4 Dead with no problems, he shouldn't have as issue with Bioshock.
