The new Jasper motherboard finally ends ...

The overheating issues are finally over, but only if you buy a Resident Evil edition 360. At this time, every other 360, including the black elite's, still use the Falcon chipset.... That's why they're bundling them with Halo 3 and Fable 2. If you want the new motherboard with the 65nm CPU, 65nm GPU, and smaller memory that won't overheat, then buy the Resident Evil Edition 360... I hope that this helps some people out ;)The new Jasper motherboard finally ends ...
I doubt it solves everything but still... The first quota they should fill with Jaspers is their many 360 refurb warehouses... its about time they gave their early customers what they payed for.The new Jasper motherboard finally ends ...
Thinking about buying a new xbox latter this year, for two reasons. The 20 GB is way too small for the NXE, also thinking about buying a new HDTV.
Yeah just noticed that, they must be clearing their inventory. Increase sales at a higher price-point and get rid of older systems, makes sense

Are Jaspers in Premiums yet?

In fact id suggest you sell just the 360, keep the HDD and buy an Arcade

They're still hard to find but it's much easier to get a Xbox 360 Arcade using the new Jasper. Not to mention for the Xbox 360 Elite(Black and RE5 Edition) with the Jasper is more common then the Pro. I received a RROD about two weeks ago, and it was covered under warranty from the store I purchased it from. I actually traded it in for an Xbox 360 Arcade and received $200 back as well(since I originally had a Xbox 360 for $400). You need to look for a power spec of 12 volts while thumbing around for the serial number under the cardboard flap on the box. Also if the power supply is 150 watts you also have a Jasper setup. My Xbox 360 Arcade has all that. The Jasper doesn't heat up as fast unlike the original Xbox 360. It's not as loud either, but it still can send a vibrating sensation in the air for smaller rooms if it's running a game off the DVD drive. The Jasper motherboard doesn't solve the problem 100%, but it isn't as prone to receiving the dread RROD. I still think the Playstation 3(yes, I have one) runs cooler.
is there like a certain date your xbox is supposed to have to have the jasper chipset?
I have a Jasper and it is an arcade that I bought a months ago.Works great, no problems here, but I highly doubt it has completely cured the issues.I can't remember the specifics, but there is certain information you should look for on the white ID tag on the back of the xbox in order to find if it is a Jasper or not. Buying an arcade or elite will not guarantee you a Jasper. However, buying the red RE5 system will definitely get you a Jasper, or so I have heard.
No, the Arcade Edition comes with the Jasper, I have one. You just need to look at the back of the box, and look at the ampage, and make sure it is 12.1A. But yes, my Jasper has never even gotten close to anything you would define as hot, even after I play for 4 hours, then my brother plays for 4 hours after me on a rainy Sunday.
I dont understand why only the arcade version has th jasper. So any console made (elite, pro) in 2009 is not a jasper?

But people were saying that the new 360's are the same as the ones that overheat, so I figured I would let them know about the new chipset...

I went to my local gamestop and all the core and pro models have Jaspers(12.1v is indicator) in them.
i'm sooo lucky i don't even know how much lolAlso in a remark the resident evil 5 edition is sold at the same price that the normal elite ones... so give it a chance even if you don't really like resident evil 5. It's worth a shoot. :p

Jaspers have probably not solved EVERY problem but the heat has went down drastically. Like a previous person stated it does not even get ''hot'' after like 4 hours of playing. It only gets ''warm''. If you want a Jasper look for 12,1 A in window of Xbox box and a manufacture after october something 08. Pretty much most xboxs on shelves now are jaspers.

Actually the Jaspers have been out for a while in the new Arcades. I have one got it in Dec of 08.
