What game has the best story?

Which game do you think has the best story. For me it would probably be Bioshock or Mass Effect, both keep me really engrossed. 2 of the best stories in games imo.What game has the best story?
Given these choices I'm going with Bioshock, but as far as video game series in general, I'd have to say the entire Halo story has been pretty epic.What game has the best story?
I liked Blue Dragon and Fear's story.

Assassin's Creed had one of the best stories I had played in a long time.
Bioshock. and halo was interesting as well.

I think Bioshock's atmosphere really adds to the story, plus all the insane characters.
Bioshock, it was easy to follow. But I still love the Fallout story. So detailed.
Out of those listed I would have to say a tie between Bioshock and Mass Effect.

kotor series. i havent played any of the games on your list, well i played bioshock (demo) and i didnt even know it had a story lol. i want to play mass effect though. lost odyssey has whack combat by the gameplay vids ive seen, in one vid i saw (of the turn based combat, uuuhhgh, kotor sort of had it but at least it wasnt like that) they killed these midget things and the music was ridiculous. wait heres the vid. i mean how can i take a game like that seriously :? . i heard the story is good though and its a long one at that, shame about the combat and lame enemies and lame music though.
I would have to go with Half Life 2 and Breakdown.
Goin to go with Mass Effect. Play twice and the story still is nice,
bioshock hands down and also I loved GTAIV story too

Mass Effect by far. Bioshock definitely has a good story, but it cannot compare to a BioWare RPG like Mass Effect.
