Far Cry 2 Golden Gun storage

ok so i found a sweeet golden ak does this unlock them on the wall in the armory or do i have to keep it forever/store it in the crates because i went through the trouble of finding it but i like using other weapons so what do i do to be able to keep it without always having it equipped or in my crateFar Cry 2 Golden Gun storage

They are all over the map. I've found three of them, but they don't seem to do anything special. Anybody know what special properties the golden guns have?
Golden AK-47s won't jam. As far as I know if you put it down you lose it so I guess you should just keep it in your Primary Weapon Box.

What I use to do is to let the golden AK47 inside the crate ( cus I didn't see on the wall at the armory ), and if I want a different gun, like a sniper, I get 'em in the armory, and I keep in hands until I need to go to any safe house to get my golden AK47, because the golden is more difficult to find than to go to any armory and get 'em on the wall. isn't?
Just test it out without saving... ?
I know it's been a long time, and maybe no one will read this anymore, but I tested all possibilities and there's no other way to carry the gold AK. Or you use it as your primary weapon, or you stock in your crate in the safe houses, if you change for another weapon and left the AK in the ground, You'll lose this weapon.It can't be found in the Armory storage. And when I left my AK in my safe house's floor, It disappeared after some gameplay time, then I went to the same place I found the AK, and it was empty, so if you want another one, you'll have to go to another hidden gold AK's place.I really prefer other weapons than the AK, so I did that just for curiosity. I think it's a better strategy to carry a sniper rifle with a secondary submachine gun, or a granade launcher MGL-140 with other secondary preferred weapon, so you'll be able to engage enemies in a far safe distance or in close-quarter combats.But for you that loves the AK, here goes my combination for that:Primary: gold AK-47 ( for close and medium range)Secondary: granade launcher M-79 ( isn't so efective as the MGL-140, but helps against vehicles)Special: Dart Rifle (for long range and stealth approach)With this I think all of the combat types were filled. Long, medium, close and explosives.

its a totally pointless gun once you have the AR16
Agree, and you just need to be good... because AR-16 can shot only in burst mode.
