Ok, hello everyone, I'll go straight to the problem. My Xbox 360 was working ok via 1080p HDMI mode, I've never had any sort of problems with it, until today when I accidentally pulled the cable out when it was working (pulled it out from the X360, not the TV). In fact, it shouldn't be a big deal, but the next time I plugged it in, the TV only showed a brief ''Video not supported'' message and an empty blue screen. It's a Philips 42'' LCD, but I don't really think it matters here. What were my options? The TV, the cable, or the Xbox went faulty.I then connected my laptop to the TV with the same cable and everything worked like a breeze, as usual. Means that basically both the TV and the cable are, in fact, working fine. I then connected my X360 to the TV with the component cable, and it worked fine as well. But I can't use it that way, since I only have one component input in the TV and my Wii is plugged there all the time, while I'm supposed to use the X360 with HDMI.I've tried all the solutions I could find on the web %26mdash; from blind menu navigation for changing the resolutions to unplugging everything from anywhere for half an hour (lol). Nothing worked. I still can't get my X360 work on my TV with HDMI. I mean, the console works %26mdash; I can really navigate the menus blindly (and with no sound as well), but even if I change the resolution that way, the TV tries to accept every new setting, but still fails and I get the same error message, ''Video not supported''. I have also tried it on another TV (Philips as well though, but that clearly isn't the problem) with the same results.I have to clearly state that I had no system updates to cause that sort of glitch, it happened right after I accidentally plugged the cable out. Please read my message carefully, as I have stated all the info there, and tell me if anybody knows of such an issue? Should be somehow related to the way HDMI protocol works, but I'm not a pro at that.Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.Yet another Xbox 360 HDMI case.. Nothing ...
Oh, and the graphic settings reset by holding down Y + Right Trigger when the system starts up? Been there as well, did not help. It looks like the Xbox will just not send any sort of proper signal via HDMI to any of my two TV sets.Is it possible for an HDMI port on the console itself to die?Yet another Xbox 360 HDMI case.. Nothing ...
There is a way to reset the resolution using your composite cable with just the Red, Yellow and White inputs but I can't remember how to do it exactly. If you are in the UK then there is a guide on one of the Inside Xbox ''Sentuamessage'' episodes if you want to have a look.
What do you mean %26mdash; to reset my resolution using a portion of my composite cables? As I said, the composite connection works absolutely fine, but as far as I'm concerned, the resolution settings I set up in composite mode do not simply transfer to the HDMI mode.Hell, this shouldn't be a problem anyway %26mdash; HDMI connection always works on auto detect, and X360 simply does not have any ''unusual'' HDMI display modes that my TV wouldn't accept. Also, I have said that the graphic settings reset did not help as well. Which definitely means I have some sort of a deeper issue with my console's HDMI port than it may seem at first.
Yes, by connecting the Red, Yellow and White cables only, there is a way to reset the HDMI resolutions - it's there for the reason that you have mentioned.
Unless I am completely mistaken and have just made this up... But i'm pretty sure it's true.
EDIT: Ummm ok I've found the video i was talking about, but it was actually for a different query. Try it anyway!

Ok, I've watched it, tried playing with different settings in the analog TV mode (which is the way those three cables work) and I really appreciate your input, but that didn't help at all. I'm still thinking my HDMI port on the console may have died.
Don't know if this will help but someone else suggested:
Put the TV on HDMI input without the cable plugged into the TV, Turn 360 off. Then plug in the cable and turn 360 on.
Thanks mate, but still no luck.
Ok, I've just found two broken / bent pins in the Xbox 360's HDMI port. That should definitely be the source of my problem, I am quite relieved that I at least know this now :) Should be an easy fix. Thanks for your attempts to help, Hotwire246!
